To achieve this either double click your sample inside the playlist (F5) or click the sample in the channel rack (F6). If there's a better way to do this, I would love to know how.Ī great solution is cutting the original sample in Edison, this way you can produce a verse sample, a chorus sample and still keep the original file. Basically, I just trim it to where I want it, then use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+B to paste it out to where I need it, then when I drag the audio file back in, I just stretch the ends out, find the next sample, trim that, use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+B, then rinse and repeat. I don't like it as much as Logic, but I think I can get over it. This would loop that section of audio without changing the source audio at all. In Logic, I would just cut the audio to the length I wanted it, then drag it from the top right corner. But then I want to take that same 2 minute audio file, cut it up in a different spot, and be able to paint brush that different sample onto a different track. I've figured out that if I trim the audio to a certain section, then I use the paint brush, it will paint that section over and over again, which is great. I want to take that and turn that into a loop, etc. Then I played the Chorus, which is 8 bars. I want to take just that section and be able to loop it in the project. For instance, I played the "verse" part which is only 4 bars long. It is of me playing different parts of a song on my ukulele. I have an audio file that is about 2 minutes long. I'm trying to switch from Logic Pro X, since my Macbook is too old and slow to handle it now.
